RUNDOWN. constanta is taken from the novel a dowry of blood by s.t. gibson, a rich and lyrical retelling of dracula from the perspective of his first (or is she?) and most loyal bride. constanta is not actually her first name, but we are not privy to it. formerly a medieval romanian peasant girl turned vampire, constanta prefers to vigilante hunt down predators for her meals — oh, and she kills her maker. eventually. CONTENT WARNINGS. this book is dark, rife with emotional and verbal abuse, domestic violence, gaslighting, depression, suicidal ideation, some mentions of sexual violence, etc, as well as the genre-typical blood and gore. that said, i will try to avoid delving into anything without first asking, but given the nature of the character and canon, there may be latent hints of any of the above. BACKTAGGING. yes! life happens. i swing between boomeranging, consistent tagging, and slow. a thread is basically never too old for me to continue. CANON POINT. her canon ranges from the european middle ages to the mid-1900s. i can pluck her from anywhere. ETHNICITY. Romanian AGE. ancient. visually, mid to late 20s. FIRST IMPRESSIONS. stately, reserved, a little somber. one gets the idea she's older than she looks. long crimson hair, large blue eyes that stare back. in the late 19th and early 20th century, she's taken to wearing more austere and plain clothing to afford herself the ability to go less detected. adorns herself with a crucifix, as she's quite religious in spite of her inhumanity and the religious icon does not hurt her kind. ROMANCE. constanta is in a polyamorous relationship/marriage for most of her existence. she's extremely attached to her other "brides", as well as unceasingly adoring of her husband until late in the novel. any other romance will have to compete with the love she bears them, but she is capable of loving multiple people at once.
